PROOF-OF-WORK TASKS
8 TASKS

Start at Beginner and work up. Every task produces something real you can show: a report, a tool, a guide or a demo. Publish it on LinkedIn or GitHub as your proof of work.

B
Beginner
LEVEL 01
  • 01Call a free public API (weather, exchange rates, or the Have I Been Pwned password-range API) from Postman. Document every request and response and publish the collection.
  • 02Install an existing MCP server (filesystem or fetch) in an MCP-capable client and record a demo of the AI using it, with a note on what permissions you granted and why.
  • 03Write a beginner's guide called 'API keys: how to store them safely', covering .env files, never committing secrets, and rotating a leaked key.
I
Intermediate
LEVEL 02
  • 01Build your own MCP server with 3 tools (for example: search a notes folder, read a CSV, create a task). Publish it on GitHub with setup instructions.
  • 02Build an n8n automation that sends new security advisories from an RSS feed to an AI for summarising, then posts them to a Slack, Discord or Telegram channel.
  • 03Wrap an internal-style data source (a JSON file of company assets) in a small FastAPI service, and connect an LLM to it with function calling.
A
Advanced
LEVEL 03
  • 01Build a read-only MCP server for a threat-intel source (CISA KEV or NVD) with input validation, rate limiting and logging. Then write a security review of your own server.
  • 02Write an integration architecture doc for connecting AI to 5 company tools (email, drive, ticketing, CRM, chat), covering auth, least privilege, audit logs, and data that must never leave.
